Anti-reflux (AR)

Medically speaking, reflux is when food flows from the stomach into the esophagus. It is completely normal for babies to spit up small amounts of milk, especially after meals. If babies vomit a lot, then an anti-reflux formula (AR formula) may help. This is a special formula that can only be administered on the recommendation of a doctor. Please talk to your pediatrician before using any specialized formula. An AR formula has an especially creamy consistency due to the addition of locust bean gumor starch. Because of its greater creaminess, the formula stays in the stomach longer and reflux of the formula can be prevented.
