GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides)

The initials GOS represent galacto-oligosaccharides. It is a type of prebiotic of dietary fibers that are formed by polysaccharides and have a positive effect on the intestinal flora. The GOS pass undigested into the large intestine and feed the good intestinal bacteria (probiotics). Scientific research has shown that non-breastfed infants form a healthy intestinal flora, determined by bifidobacteria and lactobacilli, when fed infant formula containing GOS.
